So we haven't been that good at updating things this year, but it's soley because we have been suuuuuper busy. We were excited about this year before it even got here and here it is 3 months in and we can't believe what we have done so far! But even more exciting is what we have in store for this year(!).

Things we have coming up:

NEW WEBSITE! Yes, Alicia has been chipping away at the foundation to our new site bit by bit. Although we do not have an idea of the official launch date, we have hopes and plans to have it up and running as soon as possible. One of our main goals in getting a new site up ASAP is we want to launch a new store that is contained within the website so we can fill it full of the goodies and left over posters from last year & new posters we currently have and those to come. . . Which leads me to the next bulletin. . .

NEW POSTERS! And a lot of them! So far we have had the oppertunity to design posters for 3 of our favorites bands (Tortoise, Akron/Family & Tobacco Click HERE to see these prints). Let's just say we know some people who like our work and basicly have given us a list of upcoming shows this year (at a few respectable Nashville venues) and we get to choose which shows we want to design posters for. Not only do we get the opportunity to design & print the posters, we also get to run merch for the bands and sell our prints. It's a win-win by our standards. We have a number of potential BIG poster gigs still in the works, but two particular poster designs that have been confirmed in the next few months, happen to be for 2 of my (personal) all time favorite bands Mono & Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memerial Orchestra. Words can not come close to express my excitement for having the opportunity to work with these 2 bands as they have been a HUGE musical influence to me and the band I am so honored to be apart of (the Ascent of Everest.) Which leads to the next exciting news. . .

ALBUM ART! The artwork for AoE's newest album "From This Vantage" is officially done and we (M.I.D) are very pleased and excited to say it will be released on Vinyl (!) and CD format. The vinyl is set to be released on 180gram Clear vinyl (w/ maroon swirl) through Future Recordings and the artwork will be screen printed on 12" chipboard sleeves supplied by Stumptown Printers. The CD version will be a 6 panel digipak with matte varnish finish released under Shlesmusic. Photos of the artwork will be uploaded closer to the release date (with in the next month.)

*We are also excited to announce that we are currently working on artwork for our good friends Rintrah's debut CD. More info on this soon!

Although we have even more up our sleeve(s), this is all we post about for now, but check back in a week or so and we promise there will be more excitement for your eyes to gander upon.

Prepare for the sunrays & don't forget to set your clocks forward this Sunday!
Spring forth!
Best,
-drew/M.I.D

I started with 1, the schedule grew to 2 and before I could say no, I had 3. It feels oh so good to be oh so busy.

First there is a poster for David Ramirez that I have now learned the event has been cancelled, but I love this poster so much I'm still sharing it so everyone can look at the amazing time they are not going to have this weekend - who knows, maybe everyone will rebel and demand more D.R. shows all because of this poster. (If so, M.I.D. is a.o.k. taking a percentage of the profits due to our good deeds and loving support)

Second is the poster for Austin Manuel's EP Release. This was a quick one day turn around and I knew I wanted it earthy, one color and if I could fit a feather in there it would be perfect. I'm really pleased with the turn out and I have heard that there is a great possibility this design will be screen printed early next year for a tour. So keep checking back for that.

Third is yet another terrific poster request from Max & The Wild Things. I never knew I could illustrate something so cute and yet so messy and grungy. They just bring it out in me I suppose. This is for a Christmas show and we wanted to leave the typical green & red behind and go for an un traditional holiday theme... like a wolf howlng at his christmas lit forest from the moon.

Enjoy! -A

I almost mentioned this in the last news update we did, but i figured i would hold my tongue until the poster was finished. . . so, without further a due, below is a preview of the poster I was asked to do for the Misfits upcoming show here in Murfreesboro. These will be printed at the mighty Grand Palace and will be for sell at the show on December 1st. As usual, there will be a limited number of these for sell but, any extra prints we have left will be available for sale online. And if this is the case, we will be sure to make an announcement.

Also, Alicia is currently working on 2 new posters for Max and the Wild Things and David Ramirez. Given the time crunch for proper promotion of such an event, I knew I had to do something sharp, and well, below is what I threw together for them.

After listening to their EP for hours, I initally wanted to do something that spoke for their track entitled "Blood Red Moon" (Because it is a w e s o m e .)
(*pretty cool note: the circular diagram that is at the top and bottom of the poster is a graph of Apollo 11's predicted gravitational trajectory that would shoot them around the moon and back to earth.)

And it looks absolutely lovely in all its handmade/hand numbered splender.)
